Saturday morning breakfast was a close affair. Of course, the men cooked a wonderful breakfast for us during the thunderstorm. The canopies and tarps gave us some protection. Breakfast tasted extra good this morning. Pancakes, Rick's eggs, honey bun cake, sausage and gravy, biscuits and gravy, coffee, etc. etc.
Saturday evening at Dale Hollow State Park Lodge. Great buffet. We even had sunshine on the way to the lodge. After dinner there was a huge campfire in the pit on site 42. And best of all was Rick's homemade strawberry ice cream.
Willis and Mary Jo at the Lodge. This was before Willis got all choked up over a tall tale by Norm about some onions! You will have to ask him about those onions. Wendy had never heard this tale.
Saturday morning. Jerry and Pat's campsite. There is about two inches of water running across the site toward the river. I was standing under the awning at this point just waiting for it to slow down enough for me to put the awning up while the men were doing their breakfast cooking. Radar was beginning to show colors so we decided on the safe route for the awning. By the way my shoes are still wet.
Everyone was enjoying the food...but not so much the water as it was dumping off the canopy...down arms and backs. It was a little chilly.
Cooking before the rains came.
Scooters, scooters, scooters. Rick, Mary Jo, and Willis were all motorized this Rally. I don't think they found time to have a race.
The Eaden's and Judd's arrived on Wednesday afternoon after the rains stopped. The Wesley's and Cale's arrived on Thursday. Thursday afternoon Jerry played golf at Livingston, TN on a beautiful course. Pat drove the cart...much safer than me trying to drive a ball. Friday Rick, Norm, and Jerry played on Dale Hollow Sate Park's golf course. Another beautiful course.
The campground was as beautiful as ever and precipitation was prominent on Saturday and Sunday. The area where the fish are released was blocked off so walking the loop at the end of the campground was not possible without crossing yellow tape.
Art and Pat were not able to keep their reservation as Pat's Mother was in the hospital and they needed to be there. Our prayers are with you and her.
If you are in the Southern Indiana area near Saint Meinrad and like wine you might check out the new winery. Monkey Hollow Winery. Art and Pat's son has just opened this winery this spring. You can Google it or find it on Facebook.
No official meeting was held but Jerry talked about the upcoming elections at the Madison Rally.
Louie and Miriam have given us sites for the August Rally at Lake Nolin, Moutardier Campground. B-7,8,9,10,11,12,13, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31. Thank you Clyde and Red for hosting for Ross and Joan.
If you are planning on attending the July Rally at North Fork please let Willis and Mary Jo know. They are hosting with the assistance of Norm and Wendy.
Thank you Rick and Lauren for being such gracious hosts. You expanded our food experiences with the Gumbo (which was delicious) and oh what a wonderful cheesecake.....and gourmet hamburgers! What more could we have asked for.
Oh, and who do you think learned to water ski on 1 ski before her husband mastered that technique????
Hope to see everyone at the July Rally!
